We have been grateful to be a part of Madison’s community for many years and feel that it's crucial to speak up during this long-needed movement. George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery are only a few names in the long history of violence and oppression that continues to this day. These are not isolated incidents, and we must use our platform to advocate for and support change in whatever ways we can.
We want to acknowledge that we are not experts on how to best support the community and do the work of un-learning systemic racism. If anything is clear to us, it is that the time for waiting for a better moment has passed, and our community in Madison needs us more than ever.
While committing to continued learning as individuals and as a business, we will be donating to Free the 350 Bail Fund and Freedom Inc to support the work being done on the ground. We welcome the contributions and guidance from our community about how we can best proceed, as this is not the only step that we will take to support protestors and organizers as they advocate for changes that are desperately needed.
