How much should I order?
Plan on one bagel or one sandwich per person. Everything else scales from there.
- Bagels & sandwiches
- 1 per person. Buy them single, by the half dozen (6), or by our dozen, a baker's dozen of 13 bagels. Half dozens are sold at our Chicago and Lake Geneva shops.
- Catering platters
- Every bagel and deli platter comes with a New York Dozen (13 bagels) and serves 13 people. The Sandwich Platter and the Bagel and Cream Cheese Platter each serve 9.
- Cream cheese
- 3 containers (8 oz) per dozen bagels. Like it extra cream-cheesy? Make it 4.
- Smoked salmon (lox)
- At least ½ lb per half dozen (6) bagels. Lox lovers will want more.
- Tuna fish salad
- 3 containers (8 oz), or 1½ lb, per half dozen (6) bagels.
- Bacon & eggs
- Each half pan of bacon or scrambled eggs serves 12 people.
- Coffee
- Chicago's Coffee Box serves 10. Madison's coffee service serves 12. Cups, cream and sugar included.

- Recurring orders. Weekly breakfast, a standing Friday lunch, the first Monday of the month: tell us the headcount, day and time and our catering team sets it up.
- Booked ahead. Schedule online up to 60 days ahead in Chicago and Lake Geneva, 90 in Madison. For big orders, order at least a day ahead so we can bake for you.
- Sized for the room. Wrapped sandwich and bagel platters serve 9, deli platters serve 13, a half pan of eggs or bacon serves 12 and a Box of Coffee serves 10.

How it gets to you
- Delivery: up to about 4 miles from each participating shop; enter your address at checkout to confirm. In Madison, delivery is $9 in the City of Madison and $15 to Middleton or Sun Prairie.
- Pickup: order online, pick your date and time, and it's bagged when you walk in. Online ordering opens when the shop opens.
- Booking window: up to 60 days ahead in Chicago and Lake Geneva, 90 in Madison. Smaller orders can often go same day; for large orders, order at least a day ahead.
- Changes: Chicago and Lake Geneva orders are final two days before the event; Madison orders four days before. Details in the FAQ.
- Hot food & coffee: half pans of bacon or scrambled eggs serve 12. A Chicago Box of Coffee serves 10; Madison's coffee service serves 12.
- Who: all six shops cater: Gold Coast, Lakeview, South Loop and Magnificent Mile in Chicago, plus Lake Geneva and Madison, Wisconsin.

Planning a catering order
The questions office managers and party planners ask us most, for every Gotham shop. Shop-specific answers are in the Chicago and Madison FAQs below.
How much food should I order?
Plan on one bagel or one sandwich per person. Bagel and deli platters come with a NY Dozen® (13 bagels) and serve 13. The Sandwich Platter and the Bagel and Cream Cheese Platter serve 9, and in Chicago and Lake Geneva a half pan of bacon or scrambled eggs serves 12. If Gotham is the whole meal, round up; if there's other food too, about one each is plenty. The catering estimator does the math for your headcount.
What comes on each platter?
Every platter's contents, quantity and serving count are side by side in the packages above. The full menus are on Chicago & Lake Geneva catering and Madison catering. Our Chicago and Madison shops have different catering menus, so use the one for your shop.
How far in advance should I order?
Two things to know. How far ahead you can book: online ordering takes orders up to 60 days ahead at our Chicago and Lake Geneva shops and up to 90 days ahead in Madison. How much notice we recommend: online ordering has no minimum notice, so a smaller order can often be scheduled for the same day, but for large orders we recommend ordering at least one day ahead.
How far does Gotham deliver?
We deliver up to about 4 miles from each participating shop. In Chicago, our shops' delivery areas together cover downtown and many surrounding neighborhoods. Enter your address at checkout to confirm we can reach you, or contact our catering team if you're not sure.
In Madison, delivery is $9 within the City of Madison and $15 to Middleton or Sun Prairie. Anywhere else, please call or email us.
Can you set up recurring office catering?
Yes. We can arrange weekly or regularly scheduled breakfast and lunch orders for your office. Tell us your headcount, how often and where, and our catering team will set it up. More on office catering.
Can I repeat a previous order?
Yes. Returning customers can contact our catering team to repeat a previous order or adapt it, whether that's a new headcount, a different platter or another date.
Do you handle tax-exempt orders?
Yes. Gotham can process qualifying tax-exempt sales after receiving the required documentation. Have your tax-exempt documentation ready and our catering team can help set up your order.
Can I customize my order?
Absolutely. Tell us what you need. We aim to please.
For substitutions, custom quantities, dietary requests or larger events, contact our catering team and we'll help build the order. Everything is made in kitchens that also handle milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, sesame and soy. We can’t guarantee any item is allergen-free; ask us about specific needs.
Can you cater a large event?
Yes, subject to our capacity on the day. We cater offices, meetings, parties, weddings, corporate events, school and university events, and nonprofit gatherings. Tell us the date, headcount and place as early as you can and we'll plan it with you.

We are usually able to accommodate changes made at least 48hrs before your event. Let us know when discussing your order if you anticipate making any adjustments. Madison catering: What is your delivery range?
Our $9 delivery charge covers The City of Madison.
Outside of city limits are as follows:

Madison catering: What if I need tableware?
Plates, napkins and plasticware are available for $0.75 a person.
Madison catering: Do you ship bagels overnight?
Yes, we ship anywhere in the world, Monday to Friday. We add on the shipping fees directly. If your order requires refrigeration, we pass along the cost for ice-packs, insulated containers, etc.
