Joey Bagels opened Gotham in Madison, and this shop at 112 E Mifflin St is still cranking out the real thing: dough mixed in house, rolled by hand, kettle-boiled and baked in a rotating deck oven. Downtown Madison runs on the Square. State workers, lawyers and lobbyists from the offices around the Capitol come in before work, students walk up State Street from the UW–Madison campus, and on Saturday mornings in season the Dane County Farmers’ Market wraps around the Square a block from our door.

- Metro Transit buses run all around Capitol Square, and most downtown routes stop within a block or two. From the UW campus it's a straight walk up State Street.
- Parking
- The City of Madison's Capitol Square North Garage is one block up Mifflin at 218 E Mifflin St, with entrances on Mifflin, Butler and Webster. Check the city's parking site for current access during maintenance work.
- Seating and pickup
- A ton of seating inside, all around a completely open kitchen, so you can sit and watch the bagels get rolled, boiled and baked. There's room for a big group or just you. Order at the counter, or online ahead for pickup.
